Hi,

I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good place for a student to live, maybe buy and how much should I expect to have to pay? Thanks!

We need more info in order to narrow the possibilities for you:

What school will you be attending, and how long a commute to school would you be comfortable with?

What is your approx. housing budget, either for renting or buying?

What kind of neighborhood are you looking for? Right in the middle of the city, suburban, or something in between like urban residential (detached houses, but clsoe together with small yards)? Do you want to walk to local shopping, or are you okay with driving to meet everyday needs?

Are you about the age of the traditional college student, or older? Would you want to live around a lot of college students or would you prefer having a more mature crowd in your neighborhood? If the latter, would you like a trendy young professionals neighborhood or more of a family kind of area?

Do you plan to own a car while living in Boston, or do you need or prefer to use public transit?

There is a variety of options within fairly convenient reach of the colleges in Boston. Some details about your situation, and preferences in a place to live, would help people here zero in on the options that would best fit your needs.
