A climber who was half-naked -- and possibly high on mushrooms -- was rescued from the First Flatiron on Friday afternoon, according to the Boulder County Sheriff's Office.

At 12:35 p.m., officials received a call from a climber saying his friend was "not acting right" and required assistance as the two were climbing the First Flatiron. Both men were 25 and visiting from Missouri, according to a news release.

Emergency crews were able to retrieve the climber, who was treated and released from Boulder Community Hospital.

Deputies found psilocybin mushrooms -- a hallucinogenic -- on the climber who called the rescue in and arrested him on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance.

Investigators say the rescued climber may have been under the influence of the mushrooms and could face drug charges.

Also, deputies say they think a civilian may have been bitten by one of the climbers during the rescue .

I just hate it when tourists come here and bite people, it's just rude.

Which half was naked?

If it was a male, was he climbing without a shirt, or climbing in a shirt with the other half unclothed?

If it was a female, I suppose either way qualifies as half-naked.

My mind gives up when trying to figure out other permutations that might be described as half-naked.

You forgot the possibility that it may not be the top and bottom halves but actually the right and left halves.

A follow-up article in the Camera:
Rescued Flatirons climber told Boulder deputies 'shrooms' weren't his

Quote:
The half-dressed climber who was rescued from the First Flatiron on Friday remains in the Boulder County Jail today and could be charged with felony possession of a controlled substance on Wednesday.

Jon Robert Schuttenberg, 25, of St. Charles, Mo., was arrested Friday after Boulder County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a man who had ingested an unknown substance and could not make his way down the trail.

According to an arrest report, several people told deputies, "There's a crazy guy up there," as they made their way to the base of the First Flatiron.

Even though it was cold and there was ice and snow on the trail, Schuttenberg had removed his coat, shirt and shoes and was dressed only in blue jeans and socks, the report said. Schuttenberg said, "I don't understand what's going on," several times and had large pupils. . .
