It's so sad that people are losing homes and even their lives. I too hope they get the fires under control.

I drove to Littleton from Superior via Hwy 93 this week and did not see any problems - So they have it under control. You should be good on the drive - All the best. That is going to be a long drive for you especially through the mountains.

We have plans to rent a truck and drive as well but we will be passing through the fantastic & exciting landscape of Nebraska rather than the boring mountain views that you will be seeing !!

It's only about 15% contained. If we get a windy spell again it may well spread at an alarming rate.

Thanks, we've done this trip many, many times. It's beautiful once you get past Grand Junction...before that, well, it's not pretty, but it is fairly flat. Let's hope this is the last drive out the whole family has to make.

Has something gone awry with your sensitivity chip? Two, possibly 3 people lost their lives, 30 (?) homes were destroyed and you are concerned about smoke or what? Just... wow.
