Does anyone have any experience or observations about this retirement community? I gather it's a continuing care retirement community (not "just" a 55+ housing place) and seems to be located right near the university.
I am considering retiring to Boulder from the East Coast. I love the weather in Colorado, the Flatirons, and spent many years in Cambridge and think Boulder might be similar with much better outdoors and weather and views. I am wondering how it would be to hit town around age 70 without any connections?!

Any thoughts? Thank you.

Wow - I had no idea that place existed! I drive past there frequently but haven't driven on Taft Drive. When that area was built up a few years ago I just assumed that it was all student housing since it's practically on campus.
It's new, the units look beautiful on the website.
My concerns would be living so close to campus and possible traffic noise from 28th Street which is very busy (the main thoroughfare US36 through town).
I found this demographic info on Boulder: Countywide Leadership Council
And an article from 2008 Retire in Boulder, Colorado
I live in the foothills west of Boulder and quite a few of our friends and neighbors are in their 70s or close to hitting that mark.
It'll be a while before I get there, but we talk about where we'd move when we tire of mountain living. I'd move back to Boulder IF we could afford it.
Best of luck to you in your decision
