Lol on the Oatmeal Festival! I had no idea about that one!

Here's a big one coming up for Longmont.

Festival on Main

Longmont also has Rhythm on the River, parades, 2nd Fridays each month which is when there is an art crawl downtown. All the galleries stay open longer and have food and wine. Artwalk is a seperate event held a few times over the summer.

There are also movies in the park, the symphony performs free in the park each year on the 4th of July, and we have a pretty big fireworks show from the Boulder County Fairgrounds which are here in Longmont. And a great farmers market on Saturdays and now also on Wednesday nights.

Here is another link that might help.

Visit LONGMONT, Colorado! - visitlongmont.org

And the city has event links too. That's the only thing that gets confusing. Finding events because it depends on who is sponsoring. City, downtown authority, etc.

How's this for family focused activity - today in Broomfield:
Competition takes back seat to fun at Broomfield's Mini Mini Haha triatlhlon for kids

Quote:
Competition was out and fun was most decidedly in Sunday as 168 kids participated in Broomfield's fourth annual Mini Mini Haha Kids Triathlon.

To see them storming the Community Center pool, zipping down the bike path and running to the finish line was to witness pure zeal for fun and fitness. Families cheered on their kids as though it were the Ironman. The Mini Mini Haha occurs annually on the third weekend in August. This year's event sold out, and 20 kids were on the waiting list.

Ed and Denise Walent of Lafayette were there to see their granddaughter, Charlotte, 8, cross the finish line. They moved to the Front Range from Virginia three years ago.

"One of the things we love about this area is that it's so geared to family fitness," Ed Walent said. "Events like this help kids develop 'true grit' and keep it fun, too.". . .
