Hey -- I am a 28 year old, single male, looking to move to the boulder area, i thought boulder would be the place for me, but cost of living issues seem to great. I have a job that allows me to work from anywhere, so finding a job is not a concern, i make a decent living, i just dont want to dump it all into rent. after reading many posts here, Louisville has caught my attention, i think i would probably do well in a place with a small town feel. BUT my concern is that the social life will be too sparse. is that a legitimate concern in a place like Louisville? I am not a partier, but if i want to "mix it up" with other younger people, will i be able to?

In short, Louisville is not for you.
Louisville is "one of the best places to live in the USA". That means: families. Lots of them.
There are a few apartment complexes that you might look at.

Boulder is where you want to be.
Or Denver.

Well, I'm no longer young, but I do live in Louisville. Louisville of late has become a place for hipsters to hang out on Friday nights. I don't know how many of them live here, though. I used to say the only singles you'd meet in Louisville are single parents, but maybe it's different now. You could live in Louisville and hang out in Boulder. It's not that far.

Depending on what you like about Boulder, you might like Ft Collins, Denver, or Golden. Louisville is one of the most family oriented towns in the area, but the rest of the Front Range is full of 20 somethings.

Depending on your budget, I'd stick to Boulder or near downtown Denver, especially if you want any sort of walkable nightlife.
