Were you two holding hands, or something? Or just two regular guys walking down the street?

Weird.

I would surmise that you walked past a couple of frat houses filled with drunken frat rats who had a few too many beers (when does CU go on Spring Break these days?) And before somebody decides to jump all over me and tell me how frats get a bad rap, don't bother. I'm not in a PC mood these days. *

I have not been in Boulder for a long time but I found the city friendly and open-minded. I sensed no hostility, just very happy sheltered people.

Fort Collins on the other hand I did not find friendly at all. Fort Collins seemed a bit hostile, cold and aloof to be honest.

I know alot of people love Fort Collins and I can see why it is such a great city for many. I personally thought there was a bit of a coldness and cliquishness of the residents I don't find in other cities in the state.

Atypical? That would be an understatement. It sounds like you walked by a couple of frat houses on a football weekend when they were extra sauced up on Natty Light.

It's entirely possible the OP would not get the sarcasm as he lives in FOCO.

I found boulder to be extremely friendly when visiting 3 years ago, everyone waived smiled and said hello, but could not move there due to the rates charged by the property managers..

I agree with you about Ft. Collins.... People were rather taciturn....

As for gays, the Human Rights campaign came up to me asking for a donation on Pearle street among the tulips in full bloom. Now don't read anything into that. I'm afraid it might mean something.

( I'm a fiscal conservative social liberal....)

Boulder, is demographically comparable to Scottsdale, Arizona (not Phoenix! I hate Phoenix!), except boulderites are waaaay more friendly.
