My relative lives in an area of Boulder called Table Mesa. I’ve driven in England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, the former Yugoslavia, Mexico, Mexico City, Sinaloa in Mexico at night, Guatemala, Australia, London, Paris, NYC, all over USA, Canada, I’m probably forgetting a few, did fine but I ALWAYS get messed up in Boulder.

I’ve come via I80 across the south of Wyoming (road from hell), I’ve come on I90 via Montana through Cheyenne, WY and I always get messed up at the end in the last couple of miles in Boulder and it pisses me off! I hate paying tolls, especially this way.

OK, I see where Google Maps does route you over the NWP with Table Mesa as destination. However if you check the Option for "No Tolls", you get the route I'm suggesting. It routes you off I-25 over CO-119 toward and thru Longmont. It is a 4 lane divided, limited access route between Longmont and Boulder, then down Foothills Parkway (CO-157) to Table Mesa Dr.

(The NWP route saves you maybe 2 minutes vs. this route)

OK, I’ll try this next time. I don’t understand the purpose of the NWP, I just seemed to get sucked onto it. THANK YOU for your help! Really!

The NWP was created by the cities of Broomfield & Lafayette as a connector from E-470 & I-25 to US 36. It was intended to funnel traffic into the then-new Flatirons Mall area & be the start of finishing a "ring road" around Denver, eventually connecting to C-470 near Golden.

The ring road may never happen due to concerns over disturbing the contaminated soil around the now abandoned Rocky Flats Nuclar Waepon plant.

About Us

Ironically US 36, from Denver to Boulder, aka Boulder Turnpike, was originally a toll road, from 1952 to 1967. It is one of the few in the US where the toll was removed when the bonds were paid off.

You can also take Hwy. 52 to 119. Saves you the hassle of driving through Longmont.
