My family and I are looking to relocate to Boulder area in CO. I am applying at the CU @ Boulder, so I would like to find a rental house within at the most a 1.5 hour drive (preferably closer than that, but I'll take what I can get within reason). Our rental price is no higher than $1200 in the beginning. Does anyone know of any houses for rent in that price range- or am I being completely unrealistic?? By the way my family and I are moving from Tampa FL area. Any postings would be great help.

$1,200 for a house is a bit too low for most of the Front Range. That would be a real rare gem in the rough or a slum-house in Lafayette or something.

Try the Horizons at Rock Creek in nearby Superior, CO (down HWY36). They have townhome style rentals if that suits your needs.

You can negotiate down the rent by locking into longer terms. They did this for me when I was there for a year.
I had a friend who had the 3BR, 3BA, double gargage w/mountain views. Awesome place.

Sidebar question. What about jobs/work? Did they line these up or are they going to "wing it" on the fly?

I have friends that live in Longmont (I was born and raised there, but haven't lived there in about 9 years), they have a 3 bedroom 2 car garage house in a nice neighborhood at $1,200 per month. Only about a 30 - 45 minute drive to Boulder. Best of luck!
