But we are moving to Boulder, CO from out of state on August 1st and hoping to get a local's perspective on the rental market. We are looking at 1-2 bedroom places (doesn't matter if it is apt, duplex, or house) with a monthly budget of 1200. No specific preference on the area of town as long as it is in Boulder (not surrounding towns). We have 2 small dogs (10lbs and 17lbs) and one cat...all are housebroken, 5 yrs or older, no behavioral problems. However having 3 animals makes finding an apt really hard even though we have excellent rental history, are quiet tenants, etc.

I've checked craigslist and the usual websites but have heard terrible things about meadow creek and mixed reviews about boulder creek apts. We only have a couple of things we don't want to compromise on: must have laundry onsite or in unit, wood floors, and a small space nearby for a vegetable garden. ANY suggestions, information, or help would be much appreciated! Even just mentioning a good rental person to go through or ask more questions to would be a really big help. Also, I'd like to take my girlfriend out to dinner once we get there...does anyone know a good vegetarian restaurant in Boulder? Thank you so much!!

The place for a garden nearby may be a bit of a problem unless you rent a house or duplex, but you may find this site helpful.

I'm sure y'all get this a lot, but why does it HAVE TO BE in Boulder?

I think it might be tricky if you won't compromise on the flooring or the proximity to a garden plot, so I can't really say. When we lived in Boulder, we found our apartment through the Daily Camera's classifieds -- I don't know if you've checked there.

As for a vegetarian restaurant, you can try Leaf. Leaf Vegetarian Restaurant - Downtown Boulder - Pearl Street Dining

Many other non-vegetarian restaurants have numerous vegetarian options.
