about gooseberries. Why do I never see gooseberries for sale ANYwhere in this area? I know they can grow here, but I've never been able to buy any fresh ones or even gooseberry jam at the supermarket. What gives?

Hi! Sorry, I can't help you. But you made me giggle. I have never before heard of a gooseberry. Seriously... I had to look it up!

Trust me, they are yummy ! A little tart for some people but very tasty. Will have to check the "international" aisle in Safeway next time I'm in town.

They sound delicious from what I read. I'd be surprised if Whole Foods didn't have them. They pride themselves on the "exotic". Well, what do you know? I am on their website and they are listed under produce: Guide to Fruits | WholeFoodsMarket.com

We should have gooseberries up here in the Fort - the place is full of geese!

If you find some, read the label carefully. You don't want to go home with 'mooseberries.' Related to Rocky Mountain Oysters, but more moosalicious.

Are those in the same aisle as the "elk duds"?

I have 'em growing in the backyard. Sadly the squirrels eat 'em all!

Usually most people don't want them, sour and they grow like weeds.

If you love them (I do, along with my father in law) plant some bushes. They don't mind the climate.
