I watched the fight last night and I was impressed. Alvarez is still so young, but his punches are so strong and powerful and he is so fearless. I thought that the veteran Hatton will destroy him, but it turned out to be the opposite. In all fairness Alvarez is bigger than Hatton, but I think that even if they were the same weight, the fight result would still be the same.
Whether or not Alvarez is on his way to superstardom remains to be seen. Honestly, I'm not knowledgeable or experienced enough in "boxing watching" to make that prediction, but I surely enjoyed watching him last night.

All the intangibles. Brawler, heavy puncher, has heart, good looking, Mexican, promoted by De La Hoya, and has charisma. He might not be the best but he will be a very popular champion. I think he will be a better version of Fernando Vargas. He is going to make a lot of money, no doubt about that.

Just gotta work on his defense a little bit. He might have shown to have a granite chin but every rock cracks after a few hits.

He's a product of Mexican hype, when he starts beating quality opponents (a washed up past prime Baldomir doesn't count) then i'll maybe start checking his fights.

Did anyone see the fight between Alvarez and Rhodes last night? Rhodes took a beating for 11 straight rounds without getting a single REAL shot in.

Like i said in the other previous post..
All this guy is Mexican hype. He has around 30 fights and with not a single quality opponent. Just like JCC Jr.

Well, I'm certainly not an expert, but I thought that yesterday Alvarez demonstrated maturity and discipline of an experienced fighter and he is only 20 ears old. I don't think he is just a product of a Mexican hype at all.
