I must admit that early on I was impressed with Amir Khan's skills and hand speed. However, seeing Danny Garcia beat the brakes off of Khan, I now see that he's too soft. He has heart I suppose, but he just doesn't take punches well. Gotta give credit to Danny Garcia as he was game coming into the fight as a huge underdog. KO'd at 140, Khan needs to stay there. He'd get murdered at 147.
Amir Khan has always been overrated and he would be completely out classed at 147. As for tonite's fight....Garcia caught him with the perfect hit on the perfect spot and it threw Khan off. Admittedly I think Khan looked decent in the beginning. He was quick and alert, but the punches he landed didnt seem to have much of an impact on Garcia.
I dont think Khan's career is over, but definitely needs to be re evaluated. As for Garcia, he could be considered a true contender in the 140.
Bayless SHOULD have stopped the fight sooner. The first time Khan went down. He gave him 3 chances to recover and each time Khan looked like he wanted to drop. His legs went weak and his equilibrium was shattered. Game Over.
I did not watch the fight, but the reports say Amir Khan was whooping on Danny Garcia for most of the fight even up until that left hook. If that is the case, Amir Khan deserves a rematch.
I would like to see him move up to 147. There is good competition for him there. He is a pretty tall guy, and has to cut to get to 140. 147 is obviously less of a cut. His cardio shouldnt falter too much.
