Mayweather couldn't beat....

Sorry that I left out Henry Armstrong, Emile Griffith, Carmen Basilio, and other worthy welterweights but hey.

Mayweather lacks real knockout power, and has just enough strength and pop in his punches to make others respect him. I don't think this would be enough to hold off the likes of any of these fighters listed. I'd rank Floyd a notch below Pernell Whitaker.

I think Sweet Pea's defense was just a little bit above Floyd's but I think Floyd's offense is above Sweet Pea's.

That's what it has been said for a while now but so far 48 have tried and have all failed to hurt him. No wonder the media got crazy when they finally saw a small drop of blood coming out of one of Floyd's nostrils when he faced Cotto.

All four of them would have eaten Floyd's lunch. Robinson was the best of that list and he would have beaten Floyd by a wide margin since he possessed superior footwork, hand speed and power.

FWIW, all of these mythical match ups against Floyd would be boring fights with the exception of Duran if they fought at 130/135, back when Floyd stood his ground a little more. Duran would have given Floyd fits at that weight and smothered him with combinations while walking through Floyd's punches.

. The only shot he has is with Duran and Hearns. both thew bombs for knockouts every time. The every time thing is what makes them vulnerable but Floyd throws few punches and is very cautious. These 2 could hurt Floyd bad.
