GGG is too good for his own good. Who is there for him to challenge in this or the next upper adjacent divisions?
He's going through the same predicament Marvelous Marvin Hagler (My lifelong absolute favourite Boxer) traversed ages ago. He was too good for his own good, to the point wherein no one would fight him.
Hay Naku!
Anyway, great fight and Win for GGG tonight as predicted. Lemieux did his absolute best, but came up short. Nothing for him to be ashamed of. He fought his best as far as his best could carry him.
It was a truly entertaining contest.
I disagree- Andre Ward would be a good match up but I'm sure GGG's handlers dont want to risk it this early in his career
As impressive as GGG has looked thus far, I see some weaknesses and flaws that can be exploited by someone with Ward's skillset. I think each of them would be the best that they would face thus far in their careers. They can each push the other to their limits. Ward has the advantage in size, defense, ring generalship and counter-punching while Gennady has the advantage in power, body punching and punch output. If they eventually meet at 168 it will be a very tactical fight that goes the distance. Tough to call a winner at this point.
