I have always enjoyed boxing.
But I've never fully followed boxing.
I've been trying to get more verse on the history of the sport and have been diving into that, but I really want to follow what's going on currently as well.
What type of resources are there out there for me to get to know current fighters? I know that when there's a big fight, the media will cover it, but what's a good way to stay on top of everything going on aside from or leading up to the big fights?

And why would you sound like a loser? Boxing is the best sport in the world. Its good that you prefer to take interest in that combat sport when men still fight like men with their fists and do not hit their opponents when they are down instead of this weirdo rolling around in the cage like animals thing called ufc. Call me crazy but I think I'd rather win a fight than worry about whether I'm fighting "like a man". Your fists won't help you when you get double-legged and slammed on the pavement.

Point taken, but this is supposed to be a sport we are talking about and beating up a man when he is down is not a sport to me.
I would still favor prime Mike Tyson in the street fight against any mma fighter. All it would take is one punch wouldn't even have to be a clean one as mma fighters have glass jaws compared to boxers. And with his speed they wouldn't even be able to do anything before he connects.
Don't get me wrong if you get mugged by bunch of thughs on the street you should protect yourself with all you can. But sport is supposed to be a sport.

Well I'll leave most of what you wrote unaddressed because as you said, this is a forum about boxing not self defense or MMA! All I'll say is that MMA is a legit sport though, I think you should give it a chance. The boxing technique obviously won't be as good, but the fact that there's so many dimensions is what makes the fight so interesting. I don't know, at least for my part I can't get enough of it. I enjoy high-level boxing fights -- for example, I'll watch the Ruiz-Joshua rematch and Wilder-Fury 2, and Crawford-Spence if it ever gets made -- but as a whole the sport hasn't captivated me in the way MMA has.

Like you, I've loved and followed Boxing since the days when major fights were aired on free TV (e.g., Thrilla In Manila). There's nothing like watching two evenly paired competitors timing each other, throwing cleverly planned/executed blows at each other. I truly enjoy analyzing their stances, guard, ability to make opponents miss, figuring out their game plan, and admiring their finesse when finesse is present. Contrarily, I don't enjoy watching Boxers turn themselves into a bloody mess although that is always a possible outcome of the game.
MMA was not in my radar up until recently. Reason? MMA has far lower head trauma related deaths when compared to Boxing. See below:
