Anyone following bare knuckles fighting? Seems to be making a comeback on Youtube.
There is a promotion in NA, but they fight in a boxing ring. On YT there is a British one where they fight in a barn with stacks of hay as the boundaries. There is another one in Russia doing the same. Both are extremely entertaining.
The Brit one seems to have stopped because of pandemic. However, the Russians dont seem to care.

As a boxing fan my whole life and having presided over many local and Golden Glove fights I do not advocate
this sport as the the chance of permanent injuries far outweighs the meager amount of money one can take home.
Unless an organization can setup a Compensation/Disability Fund to protect the fighter
I can only wish to see it's timely demise.

How this anymore injury prone than gloved boxing besides the cuts?
Bareknuckle boxing is now legal i a few states. Can't remember which ones. You have to fight with your hands extended further out because you cannot block punches with your gloves. The old timers knew this and that is why they always posed that way.

In the American org that has all the former UFC fighters, they are still doing a sort of boxing coverup. The only differences is they cant use the hand, so they bring arms up higher, block with forearms, and lower their heads to facilitate.
I want to see what happens if someone gets hit on the back of their hand.
I like the slap championships. Some good slaps for sure.
That is great too. It is my favorite sport right now. It is better than most combat sports because it gets right down to whoever can dish out most, and take most. There is no dancing around or setting up, or transitioning from different phases like MMA.
