Just saw this online. The great Alexis Arguello was found with a single gunshot wound to his chest today.

3-time world champ boxer Arguello found dead - Other sports- nbcsports.msnbc.com

I remember his two epic battles against Aaron Pryor which are still a couple of the best fights you can find on YouTube.

My God, what sad news! The great Alexis Arguello. He was one of my favorite fighters. He was masterful boxer with striking power, a man of class and poise. I named my first kid after him and my handle here was motivated by his name.

I was wondering what happened to him. Very sad news. May he rest in peace.

And now Karl Malden from The Streets of San Francisco.

I told my wife that when Muhammad Ali dies she can forget about even trying to console me. That guy is my favorite sports figure of all time (followed by Walter Payton, Magic Johnson, Lance Armstrong). I'll have to take a vacation to deal with that.
