Manny Pacquiao, PPV TV Hercules: 1.6 million buys and counting (http://www.examiner.com/x-5699-NY-Boxing-Examiner~y2009m11d17-Manny-Pacquiao-PPV-TV-Hercules-16-million-buys-and-counting - broken link)
Clearly, De La Hoya was the reason for the huge attraction. Most of Mayweather's PPV fights are purchased by fans of his opposition, not his own fanbase. In his fights with Judah, Gatti, and Baldomir, the fights only sold in the 300K range. For Hatton it was just short of a million. Against Manny it would probably equal or surpass the De La Hoya numbers. Once again, Floyd needs Manny or other marquee names more than they need him. It's his own fault. So much talent and so little heart.

exactly...
Pac as well though, but his fan base also contributed too (for the fight against DLH), but DLH was the bigger attraction though.
