Have you been to a fight at Madison Square Garden?

My father took me to see James Buddy Mcgirt fight a couple of times, once at the Garden and again at the Felt Forum, but I can't remember who he fought. I know they were both knockouts though.

If you like old style boxing...I suggest renting or buying that new movie 'Facing Ali'...it's a really good documentory, told through the perspective of those who fought him....

You realize the grit and fire many who faught him had...and that in many cases it was a matter of him out smarting, rather than out slugging his opponents.

There's a lot of exciting old footage as each former oppenent re lives the time and moment that faught Ali...
And it's accompanied by a pretty nice sounding jazzy soundtrack...John Coltrane sounding jazz...

Pay-per-view has forever killed boxing...took it out the living rooms of millions of people and placed it in the hands of a few who can afford it...what a shame...

As a kid I remember watching Ali/Frazier III on network television for free! As well as Leonard/Duran, Leonard/Hearns, and dozens of other classic match-ups. I also remember fights started on Saturday afternoon, not 11:00 PM like most main events today.
