Interesting bit of news here about Manny. Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, serious business. He should hang it up, and consider his career a magnificent one. He has nothing to prove. This man is great because of the high level he achieved in his chosen profession. I agree with his wife. He should quit and enjoy his family while he still can.

I agree! Thats no joke. Odd that Freddy Roach suffers from the same exact disease and trains Pacquiao. Manny has nothing to prove. Thanks for all the great fights champ.

Every boxer that enters the ring at any level takes those risks. Take a look at Muhammed Ali and Wilfred Benetez. The number of boxers who stay in the ring too long is too long to list. The obvious signs of slurred speech, slower reaction times and erratic behavior are there, but greedy promoters and bloodthirsty fight fans keep these guys looking for one last hurrah.
It's an athlete thing. It seems that most of these guys seem to be the last to know when it's time to hang up the gloves.

If that's accurate, he needs to retire now.

What more does he have to prove? Considering all his great wins he should just retire. He had a great career but we all saw how it declined the last few years. You have to know when the time is right. When it becomes a risk on your mortality, it's times to go.

I agree. He is one of the greats. The much anticipated fight with Mayweather will never happen due to politics and money. One more hard match waiting for the "grand finale" fight might push this condition to the forefront. He is still relatively young and still may have a chance at healthy older years.

I bet you Mayweather starts pushing for the fight now.
