It may not be a bad idea. After the Mayweather/Mosley fight, the winner will no doubt take at least six months off between the next fight, which would mean Manny would have to wait about 8 months from his fight with Clottey to fight the winner of Floyd/Shane. I'd rather see him fight someone in three months to stay fresh, then to wait around stagnant for a fight that may or may not happen. Another rematch with Marquez would be an interesting match in between a possible fight later in the year with the winner.
