Not many true cowboys remain in Bozeman, except for the ones in the ag department at MSU. You will, however, see lots of rich dinks from California trying to look like cowboys. All hat, no cattle.

You will also enounter the charmed-life crowd, primarily from upscale towns in Colorado and Vermont, who are young, beautiful, and seem to have money coming in from unseen sources.

Money has really changed Bozeman, to make a long story short.

What's wrong with "muddin" and listening to country music? Look, if you want to live in Montana, YOU are the one who has to conform, which means hearing a little country music every now and then, not looking down upon what locals like to do for fun and most certainly, not getting critical when it comes to cowboying. Those cowboys will eat newcomers who frown upon them for breakfast which of course will be before the crack of dawn.

No true. Bozo is full of "real" cowboy type but more typically they are ranchers. I agree that money has changed Bozo, Livingston as well but there are plenty of real locals living around the area. I disagree that the true cowboys are in the ag department as cowboys are not farmers. Two totally different breeds.

Montana is very dry. I think mud racing is more of a southern states hobby. I actually had to look up the definition, as I'd never heard of it before.

Missoula is huge on MudBoggin. Have a friend who has a mudboggin truck and has a blast doing it.

I guess that puts a double wammy on a friend of mine. He owns the local mudboggin track and has races out there every weekend. To add insult to injury, when somebody gets stuck, he pulls them out with a 6 horse team of clydsdales. Says the team has better pulling power and better traction than his John Deer.

Course, that's in Wyoming, but just in Wyoming. We can throw a rock and hit Montana.
