"there are other options. forest service rents some RUSTIC cabins next to the gallatin, in the canyon for 150/mth."
Hmmm. I suppose "rustic" in a cabin context means no electricity, hence no hot water or lights? Probably a wood burning stove or just a fireplace. I bet these cabins are great for weekends and vacations. They are something I could afford from time to time. Thanks Michael11747 for this Gallatin Tip.

I'm sorry to hear that the Forest Service is sellling land that was its responsibility to preserve and protect.

I am really looking forward to seeing the "Little Belts". It sounds like free air thair. I will try to find something not too far from a grocery store and gas station. A little town in that area might be good. Might be able to find a loft over a store or something like that. A "Mother-In-Law Cottage" might serve well too. I am very quiet and have no pets...but my "sweetie" might come with me and this would mean two cats. The only time we would make noise is when we are calling the critters or yelling at the wild varmints to leave them alone. We are in a one room cottage now, with a sleeping loft and wood stove. We have electricity but have to go up to the main dwelling to prepare meals and shower. The rent price is right here, (0$). We pay time and effort in the rescue of this property from years of neglect from people who believe life is for partying and land is for trashing. This project is just about done now. The land is starting to heal from the intrusion. The dwellings are too old and messed up to try and resurrect. The owner is considering selling the place. Its almost time for Kat and I to find Our Summer and Winter homes. Little Belts here we come.

It will be fun to explore a new area where we have never been before.

What do yall know and think of Lewiston?

Respectfully, DAN 1
