Hi,
I'm working at a local university and thinking about a career change. I heard of Harris out of Melbourne. Can anyone give any insite to the level of pay compared to the national average etc? Meaning, is would a Harris job be just another job or a step up?
Thanks,
M005

Are you an engineer or working in some tech type job at the University? Do you have a degree? Harris has pretty good pay and descent benefits, but hard to compare to up North jobs . Harris is known for its lay offs of higher payed employees to hire young college grads for less money. My husband lasted through a couple layoffs when he worked there, but about a month after he got his 10 year gift he got the ax. Check out their web site and see what jobs are available and what the pay would be. Some jobs at Harris start you out at minimum wage if just in the skilled labor sort of jobs.
