Hello All,

Hopefully if my upcoming job interview pans out we will be moving to the Melbourne area. We love, love, love the beach and I like to surf (inlaws have a place in Outer Banks of N.C.). We will rent for awhile then looking to buy. Late 20's early 30's couple. Like the beachy tropical feel dont care about clubbing and stuff like that.

-Where can we find places with short term leases (month to month, 6 month)?

-Any realtor recommendations for rentals?

-Any realtor recommendations for buying. (we have a ton of criteria but that what the realtor can help us with good school, traffic, yard, etc....)?

Thanks for any advice.

Just a word of caution.......Please make sure that your agent, whomever it will be, is really a buyers agent! I just had a relative make a purchase in Cocoa Beach with a "buyers agent" who told my realtive that an
appraisal wasnt necessary since it was a cash deal. Nonsense! An appraisal is ALWAYS necessary! My realitve was warned by me to get one done, and he didn't, and ended up overpaying in this downward market by $30,000. The agent also put in changes to the contract moments before the buyer was to sign. All over the contract was "as is." Never during the showings or initial visit to the subject home was "as is" mentioned, not even in the MLS sheet. There were a few more details that surely proved to me that this agent was really working for the seller, not the buyer.

I was also told that in the state of FL, home inspectors do not have to be licensed. I am not sure that is true, but check into that. A reputable home inspector should belong to a nationally known inspectors organization.

Good luck

I have been working with Kim Walker-Bagwell. While I am looking from abroad, she has been very helpful and prompt, and answers all of my questions thoroughly and honestly. A good experience so far.

Default Moving to Melbourne

I am moving to Melbourne next year after I finish my enlistment in the Air Force. I have also recently graduated with my business degree. I would like the honest opinion of the people from the Melbourne area to tell me how the job market and economy in Melbourne is?
Thanks.

Default How did your interview turn out

so I see you posted back in March. How did the interview go, are you moving to Melbourne? I am a licensed Realtor and have lived in this area over 20 years. I have lived in many areas throughout Brevard County, mainly on the beachside. Feel free to e-mail me if you have not found a Realtor and you need help. kpenn@viera.com
