What would you like to know ...just moved out of Titusville sold our home and moved back to NJ lived there for 15 years.....my sister and niece still live there.

Tell me what you want to know and I'll answer what I can.

Living is pretty cheap, not a bad area but not much to do right in Titusville, they sorta roll up the side walks bout 8 pm LOL but it is centrally located 45 mintures to Orlando, Melbourne, Daytona.....
If you work it will mostly be in one of the places above as there isn't alot of work right in Titusville. It is bout 20 minutes to Playlinda Beach or 35 minutes to Cocoa Beach..... You can get one of the best Shuttle Launch Views from Titusville (but with the space center doing away with the shuttle thats not a lot to look forward to) and Fishing is pretty good.

I'd say average homeowners age is 39-49 ish The only stores for shopping are Wal-Mart and Target which is newer) There are some rest. and a movie theather....but mostly you will go to Merrit Island or Cocoa Beach area for that type thing or over to Orlando. They did open two nice shopping areas one in Viera (bout 25-30 minutes south) and the other Orlando (bout 25-30 minutes west)

Default also interested

Sorry, this isn't an answer to your post, but we're planning a move to Florida and are also wondering about Titusville. Are the houses the typical coastal neighborhood, all crammed in together? How's the crime level?

Thanks

We just relocated to Titusville from the west coast, we have no complaints, and we find plenty of activities around the area, more than in Calicornia that suit our needs. Anythinv you want to shop or eat at is within 30 mins if not right here. It's 33,000 people spread out over a large area, most houses have ample yards, the city is very quiet and the people are extremely nice and helpful. Cost of living is quite low. If you like water activities there are plenty of things to do on the water here. Wildlife refuges and lots of schools. A great place to retire or raise children.

I moved to titusville 10 years ago from the north carolina coast..love it. there are no crowds no traffic to fight. the crime is low. people are just plain down to earth simple folks. houses are cheap and due to it being such a small town the cost of living is less. if you want shopping malls take the drive to merritt island mall or into orlando. close to disney, sea world . without the rat race they have there..love it love it !! .oh and the fishing is just great....most.. are "A" schools
average age

30/40 --21%
40/50--33%
50/60--26%
60/70--20%

Just curious....why do you think Port St. John is safer from hurricanes than Titusville? They are just 10 miles at most down the road from each other on US1. Both are on the Indian River and both are on the East Coast of Florida. I guess both areas had a little less damage than south Brevard in 2004, but there was damage in both towns.

If a hurricane comes close enough to Titusville it will also be blowing in Port St. John. I guess if you are farther from the river there might be less flooding from the surge on the river( it was as high as the tennis net at our complex on the West side of US1 in 2004 here in S. Brevard).
Anyway that is what I am hoping since we moved farther from the river, but I know many homes here in the neighborhood were damaged from the wind. I think we are probably about 10-12 miles in now.

Thank You Barbiloo. I'm on the Left Coast (just above Santa Barbara) and will be moving to the Titusville area this Fall. Your info is very helpful. We are looking at the Mims area at this time but nothing has been written in stone yet. We are water nuts and love Fishing and Boating very much. Looking forward to exploring Mosquito Lagoon with all of it's beautiful Islands along the Intracoastal Waterway.
Google Maps is just fantastic for looking at an area. If you haven't tried it do so, you'll love it.
Thanks again.

Thumbs up update on Titusville since 2011

Our stay here is still quite wonderful and things are improving greatly as far as seeing lots of new buildings and sprucing up of US1, the Miracle City Mall is about ready to undergo a complete overhaul, removal and new construction of the mall. Kennedy Space Center no longer launches space shuttles but actually they are launching many other types of missiles and other space craft out of the KSC now. SpaceX is a major company doing this, but there are others and now they are talking about a new launch pad just a few miles north in Mims area.
The Mims area is also getting a brand new Veteran's National Cemetary! Construction is about to begin on that!
A Mars civilization mockup city tourism attraction is being planned for the area near the Titusville Airport.
A new Publix grocery store is under construction and many new restaurants are just opening or being planned soon. One big new Steakhouse Shiloh, just opened up yesterday!
Titusville hosts regular Farmer's Markets, Friday Night concerts, street fairs, and Food Truck Wars which all bring in a ton of visitors as well as the Rocketman Triathlon that is an annual event here these days.
The city seems to really be waking up to all the new activity and soon it will be rocking even more with the new Miracle Shopping Center.
We are leaving this nice, quiet little city for our own personal reasons but we just wanted to share how great this quiet city is and how you don't have to get on the interstate for any local travelling. It is so close to the Orlando Airport and attractions, Daytona, Cocoa Beach and Melbourne has some fine shopping at the Avenues.
