I am looking to purchase a home located in the Sonoma neighborhood. Can anybody tell me some good or bad things about this development in Viera? I'd appreciate any input, thank you!

Viera is a large planned community that people either love or not. I'm not as much a fan as it's somewhat remote (west of I-95 in former scrubby pasture-land) and completely lacking in a Florida-vibe. It could be pretty much anywhere in the Southeast US if you were just dropped off there unknowingly, exclusive of non-native tropical plants thrown in here and there. Be prepared to do a lot of driving, as most everything you do will involve a long drive.

In Viera? I mean, most of Brevard (and Florida in general) is fairly sprawled so driving is a part of life but you think Viera requires more driving around than any other place in Brevard?

I'm not familiar with the Sonoma neighborhood specifically but Viera is loaded down with stores, restaurants, & just stuff in general. I'd find it hard to believe its really any more inconvenient to live there than anywhere else in the county (or state even).

Yep I do think that living in Viera would require more driving around than other places in Brevard County as it sits pretty much by itself in relation to the rest of the county. Check out a map sometime.

Yeah, I am familiar with these maps as you call them which is why I found it strange that you'd pick the place thats actually the center of Brevard County out as requiring the most driving. The same place that has the county's only Pro Sports team, the Brevard Zoo, and the most options in shopping, restaurants, golf courses, and family entertainment to the extent that you really don't need to leave Viera for anything other than the beach or fishing (hardly a unique thing to Viera).

The beach is the only thing Viera isn't right next to but that's hardly a long drive at 10-15 minutes max (depending on which beach you are trying to get to). I can see arguing the beach is the best place to live if you are an avid beachgoer but it isn't what the OP was asking.

Do you know Brevard county at all? Or do you just look at maps and assume everybody drives to the beachside to do anything?
