Regarding jobs, I have a career as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, what is the job market in terms of the medical field. What hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, etc. are located in the area and do they hire on a regular basis. I am doing an assignment in Pensacola from Dec thru mid-March, but am seriously considering permanent relocation to the Brevard County area after that. My girlfriend and I are in our early Fifties and originally from Chicago. Comments and suggestions are appreciated.

Parrish Medical Center in Titusville I believe is the largest in Brevard County. Then there's Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne and Wuesthoff Medical Center in Rockledge (as well as a smaller facility in Melbourne). Kindred Hospital in Melbourne is a long-term acute care facility. Healthfirst (which operates Holmes Regional) also has three other smaller area hospitals: Cape Canaveral Hospital, Viera Hospital and Palm Bay Hospital. If you wind up in southern Brevard County, Sebastian River Medical Center in northern Indian River County could work for you. Another option worth considering in my opinion is the new hospitals at Lake Nona Medical City in Orlando which open next year. There'll be a new medical center which will house the University of Central Florida's new medical school, a Nemours children's hospital and a new VA hospital. It's about a 45 minute drive from the west side of Titusville, Cocoa West or Viera.
