Hey Everyone,
my husband and I will be moving to Florida this week or next. I don't know the areas in and around Merritt Island, that are safe and a good neighborhood to live. We are looking for homes in the $450,000 to $550,000 Range. We would also like to know what cities are closer to Merritt Island,FL and are nice to live in. Any information about the areas would be appreciated.Thank you All!

Merritt Island itself won't have much in that price range. I would recommend looking beachside at the towns of Indialantic, Melbourne Beach or Indian Harbour Beach.

Really depends on what else you want or expect in that price range. Good schools & nice homes are certainly going to be found in that price range in Merritt Island (or elsewhere) but "nice" is always a very subjective thing. If you do want to check out Merritt Island first (for proximity to work or other reasons) I'd recommend south of 520 off of S. Tropical Trail, S. Banana River Dr, Coutnery Parkway. Try them all & see what you think as they all basically parallel each other. General rule of thumb, the further south you go on those, the better.

If you are expecting your own 1+ acre estate on the water with the highest end upgrades you aren't likely to find it there. But if you're just looking for a very nice area, good schools, very nice-to-upscale home with dock access for boating...you can certainly find that in Merritt Island, and a few other towns mentioned.
