Hello Everyone, where do you recommend a newcomer to Merritt Island purchase furniture? We have noticed alot of indpendent furniture stores around the area that look promising and we weren't impressed with Value City the last time we were there. We do know there's a La Z Boy on Route 1 near Cocoa and will probably look there for starters. . Thanks.

Here is the best advice I can give you as a person who has moved numerous times, leave your stuff behind and go to this website:

www.estatesales.net

Pick some sales and head out to them. There is NO reason to move furniture here, there is a TON available. Most people want their stuff to go to a good new home, just buy the best cleaning supplies and move down.

Perfect, thanks. We're bringing a few one of a kind pieces I inherited from my folks but alot of what we have is *very* old and needs to be trashed, then replaced w/ new once we get there.

On 192 in Melbourne there are quite a few furniture stores. I know Haverty's, Kanes, Rooms to Go are there along with some others that I can't remember the name of. There is an Ethan Allen in Viera.

If you really want to splurge on nice, modern stuff, try Scan Design. They are in the Orlando area but deliver to the space coast for a pretty reasonable flat fee

If you like the Scandanavian stuff...

I see a fair amount of Scan Design here at estate sales, seems popular here. I picked up a whole line of Scan Design bookshelves when I moved here at one sale. There is also a place in Indialantic called Danish Interiors. See (not much of a web page as of now):

danishinteriorsmelbourne.com

And Ikea is in Orlando too.
