Hello. So there's a chance I might be moving to Florida with my girlfriend and her family. I'm 25 and I've lived all over the Cincinnati Ohio area so I've got a bit of experience with noving but this is quite the move.

Basically her father has a job down there in Melbourne but we are all trying to decide a good place to live. So far Melbourne, South Melbourne, Satellite Beach and Melbourne Beah areas but the difficulties are finding places that allow pets over 30 lbs. There are two dogs each weighing around 50 lbs or so and a couple cats. Does anybody know of any pla es that will allow animals, is in a good area and hopefully close to the ocean? The big stretch of Island is fine too as long as it doesn't get too expensive.

Any tips on this would be wonderful, thanks!

I would look on Craigslist and use the "accepts dogs" and "accepts cats" check boxes to narrow down. I think independent landlords tend to be more lenient, particularly if you're willing to submit to a background check and be willing to put down a pet deposit of some kind. I think the direct approach works best and offer to pay more of a deposit in order to accommodate your pets. Some (not all) landlords will appreciate that and try to work with you. Good luck!

^^I agree. I am a landlord myself (not in this area.) I did consider leasing to a tenant with a pet when I have a no pet policy. As a landlord I would need to talk to your previous landlords, take a larger deposit, charge a per month pet fee, and possibly do more frequent walk throughs.
