I would hate to have to use Bank of America when we relocate so I was wondering what local or regional banks are the best and friendliest in Brevard county. Thanks in advance!

When we moved last summer I spent a lot of time looking at banks and decided to use a credit union instead. The most common is here is Space Coast CU, but they are not as nice seeming to me (too many fees), and as easy as Community Credit Union. I have been super happy with them so far:

I was lucky in that I use the same bank as up North. TD Bank.

We've been with Sun Trust Bank for over 30 years and not planning on changing.
Son is with TD and they are good with better hours, less fees than all the banks in the state, I think. They have been good for him. Used them for our last car loan because got a better rate than with SunTrust

I wish there was a 5/3 here. At home they are in nearly every grocery store. I'd also avoid BOA like the plague. Sadly my mortage was sold to them and I'm stuck for awhile. For checking and savings, I went with Space Coast Credit Union and have been pleased. They have a million drive thru lanes so there isn't a long wait to deposit.

I really like SunTrust. I opened my account at a newer branch which doesn't have the heavy foot traffic/lines of some like BOA or Wells Fargo (avoid as well!). I have heard from some that Chase Bank has been good as well. They just opened all across Florida in the past year.

In general, I've tried to avoid the megabanks and go with CU's. They give you better rates on your money and loans. Suntrust isn't as bad of a megabank as Chase, BOA or Citi etc., but they definitely did some risky practices and failed a recent stress test

I know, that wasn't good to see. However I was sold on their convenient locations and customer service which I found to be far more friendly than the other big mega-banks. I'm well under the FDIC limit with my accounts so figure it's not really like it's a gamble other than the off chance of having to move my funds some day.

We were with Suntrust for 20 years, but their customer service declined over the years. We switched to PNC, extremely friendly and helpful. The Manager and employees are very pleasant and always make it a point to talk to you. We even get phone calls and emails as follow up, or just to see if there is anything you need.
