Hello everyone,

I currently live in Merritt Island and want to move South to be closer to my job. I saw several houses in Melbourne Village. We like the quiet, the trees and historical feeling, and proximity to everything. But we are concerned by rumors we heard about low-flying aircrafts over Melbourne Village (from the FIT Aviation school). If anyone lives there, can they give me a sense of how many flights a day and how low they actually fly? Is it really a deal breaker and real estate values in the village are destined to go down because of that?
Thank you for any information you can provide!

Try contacting the flight school directly as they can give you a more accurate count of how many flights per day - F.I.T. Aviation, LLC

I can tell you that Melbourne Village is almost right in the approach to one of the runways that is frequently used for training aircraft (I went to school there). Aircraft do not go below 1,000' over residential areas - the only instances they would be lower is landing at the runway, but Melbourne Village is far enough out that that shouldn't be an issue.
