I was initially looking to relocate from the NE to the Orlando area. I have been an RN for 9 years. I have had no luck finding a nursing job in Orlando and am now considering Brevard County. Does anyone know how the job situation is here? Also I have a 16 year old and 14 year old who is autistic. Can someone tell me how the school compare? I would be renting. Thanks.

Schools are great in Brevard County. Better than Orange, Volusia, Lake or Osceola county. On par with Seminole, although I've heard some argue the schools in brevard are better than Seminole County. For example, west shore high school is in the top 50 in the country.

I applied to several hospitals within the HealthFirst system (Holmes, Viera, Palm Bay, Cape Canaveral) and was very quickly interviewed for and hired for my position of choice, I ended up choosing Viera. I have MUCH less experience than you, have only been an RN for a year, so I don't think you will have a problem. Wages could be better, but it is what it is.
