Here's the thing. We moved down here from VT about 4 months ago. (Sooo glad we did!). We signed up with Brighthouse for our phone, TV and internet. I am so not impressed. The TV channel guide is so confusing that we cannot get a good grasp on it and it is so far from being user friendly for my Mom who has Alzheimer's, it is just not funny. Not to mention at any given moment the channel will change to their channel 13 station. It will also record their advertisements and programs at a whim. I am sorry but that is just not acceptable to me. It also goes out when we have a thunderstorm. The internet is slow as molasses. I pay for 30mbps and am lucky to get 12 which is as slow as 1mg of DSL. They have come out 3 times to get me better speed and can't. The only thing that works is the landline phone that we have to have for my Mom. Sorry for the long rant but I am exploring other options including Dish and Direct TV but I fear the weather will wipe it out everyday there is heavy rain. The one thing going for Direct TV is that they actually have SNY which broadcasts Uconn women's basketball which my Mom loves to watch. (Of course it is in the most expensive package). So I am paying $150 a month for spotty TV , internet and phone. Is anyone out there really happy with their services and can you please tell me who you use? Thanks in advance!

I've had bright house for 8 years, and just recently switched to U-Verse (provided by AT&T). For internet, cable (three rooms), and home phone I was paying $179 with Bright House. I now pay $96 with Uverse, and each room is able to have their own DVR boxes.

**I forgot to mention, we decided to drop the landline phone since we all have cell phones, which brought us down to $79 a month for high speed internet, and full cable DVR boxes in all rooms. AND we got to choose a free gift just for signing up (We chose an xbox 360, but there was a tablet, sound system, or visa card).

I did call AT&T for their uverse and it was around the same $150/month. They were also very pushy in the sales dept. Unfortunately my Mom cannot use a cell phone so we have to have the land line. But Thanks!

With AT&T can you get the free wifi for cell phones, tablets, laptops when you are on the road like you can with Brighthouse by signing into your account? And if anyone has used it, how well did it work? I had a devil of a time finding access in TN without using it earlier this year so just registered and will try it this time.

We don't pay $179 for our cable combo from Brighthouse and we have Showtime ( well we did but right now it is Starz because ABC and BH in disagreement) and we buy the sports package. It is $162 with all the taxes added on. Sometimes the phone reception is kind of poor quality and get disconnected once in a while, but think it is the wacky way this house was wired for cable by the previous owners.

How about adding something like Vonage | Home Phone Service - Domestic & International Calls, Low Rates for $9.95 a month?

I know you need very speedy internet for the phone to work. At least you need your computers off because Vonage makes high demand of your bandwidth. Since the Brighthouse internet is spotty at best I would not consider Vonage because it would interfere with my internet. But Thanks for suggesting it.
I really need to know who has used satellite TV and is happy with it. Anyone?
