They talked about high speed rail since 1975. It's a pipe dream. In the mid to late 90's they wanted to use TICO Airport as the maintenance area for the trains and pre-cast all the rails / columns used this is for high speed rail and or a elevated train system like Disney. Phase 1 was a route from TICO across the river to the Port and loop back onto 528 BEE LINE now the Beach Line into Orlando International Airport and loop back to port. Disney as I understand wanted to build from the Airport to Disney.. They it began with all the environmental issue and land rights issue and this issue and that issue. Been this way for 30 plus years just been one fight over another about some issue..

So, I know this is an old topic, but I was wondering if Melbourne / Palm Bay would be up to lobbying All Abord Florida to be added to their Brightline Phase 2 route.

After all, the service between West Palm Beach and Orlando goes right through the coastal cities. If not as one of the 'express' trains, then perhaps as a regional / local service? It would be nice to not need to drive into Orlando.

I thought Brevard County was going to have a Station in their list of Priorities to the Florida Legislature, but it looked as if that was dropped
