Hello, I am relocating to Viera in a couple of weeks and will be working remotely for my company and will need to access servers located in CA and MA through a VPN connection. I keep seeing online advertisements for Bright House Lightning 90 mbps. Anyone have any feedback on this service or any suggestions for another residential internet service that is fast enough to accommodate a work from home situation? My company is paying for the service so as long as it is under $200 a month they will approve it. Thanks in advance!

There is also AT&T U-verse. Not sure if it is fast enough for you

I VPN from Merritt Island to Irvine, CA and Austin, TX on a Bright House 30MB connection, and it works fine for me. If there's a bottleneck, it's at the VPN destinations. The BHN 90 should work fine for you.

I tried to call brighthouse last night to set up internet and after hold music for 10 minutes it went silent. After 4 minutes of this I hung up. I do not know whats going on but so far its been a bad experience. Also online you can only sign up for bundles, not just internet like I want. Overall pretty frustrating so far. :/

Try going to one of their office locations. Very fast, with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. You can also order Chinese Menu style.

Ya I was going to go to an office when i get into town. How long does it usually take to activate? Do they have same day service? Also un related question, how long does it take to get water on? I am moving into a condo and I am not sure if they have water on or not but either way I need to put it in my name first thing monday morning when I arrive. If there is no water will it be on relatively quick or could it be a day or two wait? Thanks if any one knows!

If it's just internet, it could be same day if they don't need to send a technician out. Unfortunately, my experience all larger ISPs need to send tech out. That said, it could be 3-4 days.

I can't speak for Viera water. If it's like Cocoa, they never turned it off. You just need to go into their offices to get it put in your name. A phone call would probably answer that one.

Not in Brevard County, that I am aware of. If there were, I would have looked for housing in that area.
