I am in east Orlando, but have family in Titusville. IMHO I would lean towards the charter school. I have heard too many bad things about the schools over there...

I would stick with Charters. The schools here are not bad, Brevard is best in Florida, and Titusville schools are really good as well, I don't know where people are getting their info. I live and work in Titusville. My child attends Sculptor Charter in Titusville-love it. I like charters because they focus more on learning less on FCATs, and also they are very family oriented. Also heard good things about Edgewater in Merritt Island

Default Jackson Middle School

I have 2 daughters who just finished up 7th grade at Jackson. The bright, talented daughter did well and was in the orchestra and the band - in the Quest program and had a good group of friends. The daughter in regular classes with some Exceptional Student Education classes did not fare as well, the school did not meet her IEP expectations and we were not pleased at how different one school could be based on ESE vs High Functioning student. The other part of your message troubles me though, Fieldston is an alternative school for emotionally handicapped children. I am not sure you would even be able to get your daughter in- and I'm not sure you would want to unless she has the qualifying handicap. I am very familiar with the schools in Titusville. I have 3 relatives who are faculty members and I have 4 children presently in the Titusville schools, and 2 who have graduated.
