We are a retired family with one adult special needs child . Please help me like Melbourne area again. We wanted to move from PA back to Long Island for medical drs and to be near my baby grandchild . It didn't happen it was so expensive compared toneverwhere else and I'm discouraged If we go to Florida my son and family may follow, the taxes on Long Island are very high . We both need to care for our daughter and we can't go to work it makes her very anxious is it true that Melbourne is very congested now ? Is it true that the roads in Palm Bay are almost impassable We haven't live there since the nineties And we would've looking for a small home 2 bedrooms or a senior community like Port Malabar Holiday park to start off . Do you have a major medical center ? Balance center? Hepatologist?(liver Specialist) many times work in GI offices thanks

I have been here since 5/17 and we love it. We are from Long Island, but left there for Orlando 5 years ago. After leaving Orlando, Melbourne was perfect for us. My dad lives in Palm Bay, south of us. Not very crowded here, but Palm bay rd is very busy. Here it's Wickham rd, but it doesn't bother me. Lots of hospitals and medical facilities. Hope this helps.

@sadiecountrygirl1 Hello!! Traffic and road conditions are all relative, I suppose, but I don't find either to be bad in Palm Bay or Melbourne. There are some roads in Palm Bay that are "paved" but feel more like dirt roads so you just drive a little slower. That being said, I grew up in Michigan driving on dirt & paved roads with potholes that could swallow a car!

Here is a possible balance center in Melbourne: https://www.fyzical.com/melbourne
As far as Hepatology, it looks like the closest is in Titusville, which is about 35 miles away from Melbourne. There are also several options in Orlando and St. Cloud.

Hope this helps & if you have any other questions just ask!!
Wendy
