I live farther north in Florida, and have been thinking of trying 95 South and then Route 50 to Orlando instead of taking overcrowded I-4. Does anyone know how Rt. 50 is in the morning at rush hour? Is it a highway or road?

50 is a four-lane road (not a limited-access highway) for that stretch, if I remember right. It's hard to say if it would save you any time without knowing what part of Orlando is your destination. My memory (take with a grain of salt, I'm not a commuter) is that it starts getting congested as you get closer to the east end of the 408.

Thanks. I would be going to Underhill Road near Florida Hospital East. On a map, it looks like an easy drive, but I have never been on that road, and I would be on it for about 20 miles.

It is a 4 lane road but once past Bithlo lots of subdivisions off the road so lots of stoplights which got backed up even 10 years ago when our son was at UCF. I imagine it is much worse now. Are you planning on taking the 408 to Goldenrod to Underhill?

Yes, I would be getting on 408. However, this route sounds like it won't save me any vs. going on I-4 and the other highway routes.

It's not as crazy as I-4 is, but it does get backed up some between Avalon Park and 408. Not too bad though. They are going to be making a by-pass in the future, which will definitely be easier.
