hello everyone,
our family is looking for a home in brevard county, but with all the talk of 2000-8000 layoffs coming up in 2010, im wary of buying in an area that is going to take a big hit and destroy home values.

im wondering which cities/towns will be impacted the most.

Thanks so much in advance for your input!!

You got it!! 2010 will be the last flight of the Space Shuttle or if they have a anomloy it will end at that point. Next manned flight is Orion 2014-15-16.
And yes the figures are 2500-8500 that does not include your service sector for out side vendors that support the Space Center from soup to nuts and everything in between. And currenty the housing market is way down........

Is this does happen, will be very difficult to retain a job. From previous experiences from DOD base closures, the whole area will be affected and this will be a chain reaction for all sort of business and housing will get another black eye...

What we need to find out is what the state, county, cities, and towns are doing to prepare for this concern.

Housing value can or will depreciate greatly, I will say the RISK is huge

Do you have a news report on this?

This will be a good one to follow and see how we plan for the future....
