A museum I went to as a child... (Vero Beach, Orchid: school, live)

I was born in Brevard County, and lived there til I was 12. When I was in grade school, our class went to a museum, and from what I remember, the museum was about the Spanish treasure that was wrecked off the coast of Florida.


The scope of the museum might've been broader, but I was fascinated with the Spanish treasure aspect, and pirates, etc. (I'm still fascinated with pirates.) I remember that some of the gold and treasure was on display.


I'm not sure the museum was in Brevard County, but I figured this forum was as good as any Florida forum, to ask if anyone might know or remember what museum I'm talking about, and where it was located?

The other day, my husband and I were watching a documentary on pirates, and it talked about the Spanish treasure, and the ships that sank off the coast of Florida, which triggered my childhood memory.

That's a great little museum. Highly recommended visit. People to this day still find bits of treasure in the area from the wrecked treasure ships usually after storms or big swells that shift the sand around.
