ohh, youre going from very cold to very warm! There is Ron Jons surf shop on Cocoa Beach. You can park there for free and spend time on the beach. There's also Jetty Park, which is nice.Jetty Park is a family oriented place with lots of visitors. If you just feel like being on the beach on Labor Day, its nice to watch all the cruise boats that leave from the Jetty. If you are a party animal, find your way to Minute Men causeway, its a pretty rowdy place. Too rowdy for me actually. Dont forget to make your way to The Pier to see the pelicans try to steal fish from the fisherman. The Pier is just down the road from Ron Jons surf shop. Supposedly Cocoa Beach is geographically the closest beach to Orlando...I think. Supposedly!
If you make it to Jetty Park, thats a good place to watch the Space shuttles when they go off. The ground shakes! Enjoy.

Oh you are going to love Cocoa Beach....Especially coming from where you are!!! It's everything the above poster wrote, and also it's the sufing capital of the world. I wouldn't have thought that, but it is. You are going to have a blast, and I bet you never go back north again. Good luck to you.
