We just drove up and back to Titusville from Vero Beach for no reason other than to change the scenery. We thought we'd find a downtown to walk through, maybe a restaurant for lunch, but we found a vast wasteland of nothingness. You'd think with the space shuttle that they'd have some amenities. We stopped at a mall to use the facilities, it was called the Miracle Mall, and it was totally vacant except for a JC Penny and a GNC and it smelled of mould. It should be renamed the Need-A-Miracle Mall. We had a nice lunch on the way back in Viera (Melbourne). If I missed something, please post it here. There has to be something up there besides Cape Canaveral.

The two malls that are in Titusville have been dead since I lived there as a kid in the 80's. The people that live in that community weren't smart enough to support them and drove to Orlando and Melbourne to do their shopping. If your looking for a good place to eat Dixie Crossroads use to be excellent. Other than that and Playalinda beach there is not much else. That town was tied into military spending(McDonnell Douglas use to have a plant there that made Dragon missiles) and NASA which the government has been cutting back for years.

Titusville is pretty crappy. And boring. By almost anyone's standards. There's a small downtown area that would be walkable, if the city would put a street light up. But instead, you have to dart across the road to check out other shops. People generally aren't that interested in being friendly. But not rude either. If you like nature, there are wildlife drives and stuff. Playalinda Beach is very natural, not dirty/touristy like cocoa beach. But if you are looking for interesting shops/restaurants/flavor and culture... this may not be a great destination. Ever.
