Anyone out there have any ideas of RN and Business Analysts positions in Florida. We are concentrating on a move to the Space Coast in the spring/early summer. We are coming from upstate NY. Also any information on wages for these positons would be great. I do understand that they will be lower than what we are making now. Thanks for your help.

I lived in Brevard, worked every hospital there. Titusville one hospital, poor icu,Docs, etc. Cape canaveral ICU is great. Forget any Melbourne, very bad Docs.I wrote up at least 15 for killer errors. Also, went to families, told them to sue. So, I opted for PRN nursing agency in Orlando,Fl. Made $40/hr as needed no bennies. Loved working all hospitals in Orlando, easy commute, great hospitals.
CCU specialty. Then, I felt likehome walking into icu, w/o orientation.
Think it may be why salary was higher as hospitals requested me specifically to take charge of their units, offers for hire. I declined. So,Igot to try all hospitals in city,Orlando. Then,I could choose which I preferred. Good, best way to check out hospitals. Relocated alot . STL,chicago, all over Fla, so experience taught how to get into the best
hospitals in any area of USA. PRN was my favorite perdiem Agency. Space coast is my favorite, the shrimping, fishing, camping, swimming.
It is breautiful the more southerly you go in Brevard - in terms of the water and recreation mentioned. You will love it. But not brevard hospitals nor the Docs. In ICU anyway. Except one: CapeCanaveral Hospital. Its pretty much as good as the excellent Orlando hospitals i worked. Hope this helps you in some way. Have fun, Good Luck .

I can't speak for the RN profession, but there are generally a few business analyst type positions open at any given point in time in the Melbourne area. The competition is somewhat limited for those jobs as well. The defense contracting business is fairly robust in Melbourne and could be a good place to start searching. I saw a few jobs posted the other day at DRS for Financial Analyst type positions. I'd also recommend looking into Harris and Northrop Grumman. For non-defense stuff, try some of the health care companies like ProHealth, Weustoff, Parrish or HealthFirst. The Space Coast is pretty cheap living. If you find a decent job you'll be set! Cheap real estate as well!

Wages for an entry level BA might fall into the mid to upper 40's depending on the type of work you'll be doing. Senior level BA's generally get into the 60's but there are specialized jobs out there that pay higher if you get into Project Management, Earned Value Management or contract proposal activities.
