So it's the water front stuff. Learn something new every day. Wouldn't have thought it would list that high

That being said, does seem way overpriced compared to what you can get in the nicer areas across the bridge

Rabflmom, thanks for such an informative and well thought out post! We had been considering a move from Volusia to Brevard, but I think your post has me thinking it would just be more of the same in a sense. Especially the story about someone going to get a gun at a sporting event! Those sorts of wingnuts seem to be out here too, and as someone raised in Mississippi and having been around guns all my life, I can only tell you that I NEVER heard such a conversation in all of my life in what I would consider the South. Texas maybe, but not the South. But Florida is "different", and attracts "different" people, to put it mildly. We'll probably move back to Hawaii if we move. Even w/ all the huge problems out there, no one is going to be "getting their gun" over something trivial.

Actually I love it in here Brevard County. We aren't just a tourist destination we have lots of tech industry types. Our schools are good. People are friendly and help each other out. If you pick the right neighborhoods you actually know your neighbors and kids play outside. We have lots of kid oriented things to do and festivals for all ages all year long. We have juried art festivals, concerts at King Center. We have a county orchestra, a youth orchestra and some theaters for community plays. We have an art and science museum as well as a history museum. We even have one of the major cruise ports in the country so we do have a few things going for us. But if Daytona is too hick for you, we are too. We tend to like to fish, surf, ride in boats, fish, hunt, play golf, tennis, baseball, football, read,go to movies, football games, out to dinner, etc like most places on the East coast. Of course most things are more casual here, but we can clean up and look pretty awesome when we need to.
BTW
Mom's don't really have guns in their purses ready to shoot anyone.....that was just a clever comeback to a dad who was loosing it at a kid's game. Those type of parent's are everywhere. It was all talk on both parts.
