We are looking into trying for the third time to see the shuttle take off and getting a late start finding a place. With the races in Daytona and the shuttle taking off the same time the only places I have found is on Satellite Beach and further south. Is this a good area to see it or can someone recommend an area?

The view from Satellite Beach is excellent, especially if you're actually on the beach. You can see it well from anywhere in Brevard County. If you want to get as close as you can, just make the short (15 - 20 minute) drive up A1A to Cocoa Beach or Cape Canaveral. Personally, whenever we want to get that close (as opposed to just watching from our from yard in Palm Bay), we go to the beach at Jetty Park. Just be sure to get there plenty early to get a spot!

Thanks so much for that info. We were wanting to stay in Cocoa Beach because I heard it was a good place. The last time we tried to see it we went to an area in Titusville and was able to see it still on the launch pad. We are afraid to try to get to that area again because of people trying to get to work.
