Hi, I've been a member of this site for awhile and just love it.Some may have read my posts asking for info on Venice and Gulf coast relocation. I have gotten wonderful info on all of this but my family and I are in limbo hell with his job, stating that "at any moment" we will be transfering you back to Florida(going on since 2 weeks after they moved us to Ma.in 8/08). We lived in Ma. up till 2006, then transfered to Winter Haven , FL. from 2006-2008 and now they are supposedly sending us back to Florida, but NOT saying exactly where. My husband is in retail, so it will be in ONE of the following areas: Ft. Myers, Ocala, Melbourne, Tampa, Bradenton, Brandon, Wesley Chapel or Davenport. I have already chosen areas that I would move to for a few of these locations, but am lost when it comes to others. Finally, my question is this: If transfered to Melbourne or Ocala, where is a good place to live for a family with young children? (we like spending our off time in the Orlando area, so we don't want to be too far from here).
Here's some basic info on us:

1. Will be renting a home(due to never knowing when we will be uproooted)
2. Can pay up to $2000.00 per month
3. Have 1 child in Elementary and 1 that will be going into High school
4. Would like to be under an hour drive to work each way, but within an hour drive to the WDW area.
5. Of course we are looking for a family friendly area with good schools.

I have looked into Windermere, but am lost on any other areas to check. I have been looking on Realtor.com which is a never ending supply of rental homes, thank goodness.
Thank you for all of your help and with fingers crossed, we "should" be in Florida by July. I welcome all info as well as contacts from realtors who are willing to help.

PS..we do not want to move back to the Winter Haven, RT 27 area

Thanks again

In my opinion, some really nice neighborhoods in the Melbourne area include: Viera West, Suntree, Baytree, and anything along Wickham Road going east from 95 and south to Post road. Melbourne has some of the best schools in FL. Longleaf, Suntree, Quest, and Manatee are really great school districts. As you can see and compare at greatschools.net. Good luck with everything. Oh, and do your home research, if you can afford to pay up to $2000 in rent you can find some real gems in this economy!
