I am considering moving from san diego to the space coast. Housing here is very competitive, houses rent for 1800 and up. Can anyone fill me in on the cost of housing on the space coast, as well as growth of industry in the area.

Post Spacecoast overvalued

I can't give specifics on the housing without knowing what you are looking for. The Melbourne housing market was listed recently as the worst or 2nd worst in the US. I believe that means it's grossly overvalued. You can pull the article up online. All my coworkers were discussing it for weeks.
Still, housing values have fallen as with the rest of the market. Money.com real estate section is a good resource.
The good news is, coming from San Diego you likely won't suffer from sticker shock on how much house you get for your money.
